Stefan Schweigert has been studying bassoon with Alfred Rinderspacher in Kaiserslautern since 1972 and then studied with Klaus Thunemann at the Musikhochschule Hannover. In addition to his work with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and the Württembergische Kammerorchester Heilbronn, he was a member of the Federal Youth Orchestra. Since 1985 he has been a Solo bassoon of the Berliner Philharmoniker, and has been teaching at the orchestra Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker since 1987. As a soloist, he has performed with the Berliner Philharmoniker and Camerata Bern. He performed as a chamber musician in the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, at Gidon Kremer's Chamber Music Festival in Lockenhaus, at the Brass Ensemble Sabine Meyer and the Berlin baroque soloist.
