Bregenz Festival 2022

Enthusiastic visitors, impressive productions and a lot of positive reporting in the media – three days before the 76th season ends, the Bregenz Festival can look back on a highly varied summer of culture, the first production of which was staged back at Easter. The opera on the lake stage attracted visitors in droves again. Madame Butterfly production played on 26 dates in all, including dress rehearsal and Crossculture Night. The opera by Giacomo Puccini, which was staged for the first time on the Bregenz lake stage, has played to capacity audiences. The festival season began on the Easter weekend with guest performances of the play No Exit (Huis clos) presented by Vienna’s Burgtheater.

Overview

She plays the violin, sings, composes and arranges, creates electronic sounds, and, moreover, is a graphic designer. Together, the Belgian-Irish composer Éna Brennan and stage director David Pountney, work on a new project for the Opera Atelier. In this concert at the Kunsthaus Bregenz, the exceptional artist brings her diverse musical cosmos to the stage. Being a violinist and curator, she teams up with musicians from the Symphonieorchester Vorarlberg to prepare a program that creates a stimulating dialogue between her own music and yet to be explored works of music history.

The Kunsthaus Bregenz (KUB) presents temporary exhibitions of international contemporary art in Bregenz, capital of the Austrian Federal State of Vorarlberg.

The Kunsthaus Bregenz is one of Europe’s leading galleries for contemporary art both architecturally and in terms of its program. The Kunsthaus exhibits works by international contemporary artists who generally create artwork specifically for the Kunsthaus. The KUB also has its own collection with two core areas: “Archive Art Architecture” and “Contemporary Austrian Art.” Select works of exhibiting artists have been expanding the latter part of the collection since 2009.

Alongside its exhibitions, the Kunsthaus offers an extensive educational program and a vast variety of events and concerts.
