Orchestra founded in 2002 and housed in the Auditorium Paganini, Parma. Also credited as Orchestra Della Fondazione Arturo Toscanini.
The Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic was born in Parma in 2002 as a continuation of the historical and fruitful experience of the Orchestra Dell'emilia-Romagna Arturo Toscanini, the flagship of the regional music scene; today it is considered one of the most important Italian Symphony Orchestras.
Inspired by the values of the great Maestro Arturo Toscanini-rigor, talent, flair and commitment – the orchestra's activity is characterized by a continuous search for quality, from classical to contemporary repertoire, from “chamber” groups to great sinfonism.
In September 2017 the young and talented British director, Alpesh Chauhan, was appointed Principal Director; before him, respectively, Kazushi Ono (2012-2015) and Francesco Lanzillotta (2015 – 2017), they held the post of principal guest director.
Since 2012 the Philharmonic is also artistic partner of the prestigious Verdi Festival in Parma.
Great conductors of the world-famous the have a direct from its founding to today, among them: Vladimir Jurowski, Carlo Rizzi, Tugan Sokhiev, Juraj Valčuha, Tomas Netopil, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Michele Mariotti, Wayne Marshall, Tan Dun, Asher Fisch, Stéphane Denève, Pietari Inkinen, Roberto Ab-bado, John Axelrod and James Conlon, and, again, Charles Dutoit, Eliahu Inbal, Lawrence Foster, Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos, Michail Jurowski, Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, Zubin Mehta, Georges Prê-tre, Mstislav Rostropovich, Jeffrey Tate, and Yuri Temirkanov.
Many are also the collaborations with important soloists, among whom; Salvatore Accardo, Stefano Bollani, Ian Bostridge, Mario Brunello, Mariella Devia, Placido Domingo, Paolo Fresu, Juan Diego Flórez, Sonia Ganassi, Natalia Gutman, Sharon making her the first classical, Steven Isserlis, Ton Koopman, Andrea Luc-chesini, Ivo Pogorelich, Vladimir Spivakov, Uto Ughi, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Maxim Vengerov, Krystian Zimerman.
