The vocal ensemble Cantando Admont, located in Graz since January 2019, unites outstanding singing personalities into one orchestra, combines the peculiarities of the individual voices into an expressive whole.

Always on the lookout for exceptional music outside of the "mainstream", the ensemble deals with the connection of old and new vocal music in order to discover new in old and to experience old in a new context. The artistic director Cordula Bürgi designs the concert programs and studies them with the ensemble. Together they look for specific tonalities, question the habits of singing technique and listening. The ensemble deals with the methods of composition and the associated tonal and stylistic requirements with openness and experimentation - a working process characterized by close cooperation with the composers, dealing with historical sources and the dialogue with experts.

Cantando Admont made his debut in July 2018, among others. at the Salzburg Festival (opera BEGEHREN by Beat Furrer together with Klangforum Wien) and at the Bayreuth Festival (including the opera DER VERSCHWUNDENE HOCHZEITER by Klaus Lang together with the ICTUS ensemble). In spring 2018, the ensemble also gave concerts and workshops at the Yale NUS College in Singapore. Further performances took place within the framework of Wien Modern, Klangspuren Schwaz, Minoriten Graz, the other string Graz, Internationale Musikbrücke Graz, Ruprechtskirche Vienna, Alte Schmiede Vienna, Otto Wagner Church Vienna.
