Overview
In the morning you will start your tour from your hotel and drive to the former capital of Wallachia, Targoviste and visit the remains of the court of Vlad the Impaler, better known as Dracula. Your next stop will be a historic region of Curtea de Arges where you can visit one of the most beautiful churches in Romania. It is also the burial site of the first Romanian kings. From this holy place, you will drive to the ruins of Poienari Castle, Dracula’s fortification which overlooks over the Carpathian Mountains. Finally, you will get to your ultimate destination. The Transfagarasan road, built by Ceausescu, with the help of the army is full of breathtaking views and leads you up to the summit of the mountain where you will discover the astonishing glacial lake of Balea.
