JOYÀ chronicles the adventures of a rebellious teenage girl who lands in a mystery jungle in her grandfather's fanciful world. The old biologist longs to pass on to his granddaughter his unrelenting search for the meaning of life while being surrounded by a weird group of half-human, half-animal masters influenced by ancient Mayan iconography. JOYÀ was inspired by the monarch butterfly's amazing migratory journey, in which life is handed down from one generation to the next to ensure the survival of the species.

JOYÀ the first Cirque du Soleil resident show in Mexico, combines culinary and performing arts in an intimate theater setting to engage the audience’s five senses. Drawing on Mexico’s history and heritage, JOYÀ tells the story of an alchemist and his granddaughter embarking on a quest to uncover the secrets of life.
