An ensemble of violin, cello and piano plays a screen-music concert built around Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter and The Legend of 1900.
Violin, cello and piano carry the programme. According to the organiser, the musicians graduated from conservatories in China and abroad.
It is a concert of screen music, with edited film footage on a large LED screen, plus a few pieces from outside the cinema. The notes credit He's a Pirate to Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer. They describe Ennio Morricone's score for The Legend of 1900 as a mix of jazz, ragtime and classical styles led by the piano, and they name Hedwig's Theme as the Harry Potter melody.
The notes also name Game of Thrones, the television series adapted from George R. R. Martin's novels; La La Land; The Godfather, as a lively dance and a melancholy waltz; Por una Cabeza, called Carlos Gardel's tango and linked to Scent of a Woman; James Horner's score for Legends of the Fall; and the Mission: Impossible theme. The printed list also includes a canon, the Radetzky March, Butterfly Lovers and Chrysanthemum Terrace. The ensemble plays the whole programme.
