Prince Wei of Chu murders the king and seizes power. The soul of the king of Chu haunts him and his wife Zheng Ji day and night. He kills to keep the throne, Zheng Ji takes her life, and he dies in defeat. The production uses the dramatic structure of Macbeth. Vocal music is by Zhang Beile; music and orchestration are by Wang Tianci.
