He has won awards in the 12th Southern Missouri International Piano Competition, the 2nd VIARDO International Piano Competition, and the special prize from the Rachmaninoff Society; he also received the first prize in Art Guidance at the JESSE KNIESEL Art Song Competition in the United States. Graduated from the affiliated high school of the Shenyang Conservatory of Music and the Piano Department of the Central Conservatory of Music with a bachelor's degree. He holds a Master's degree in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music in the USA, where he was awarded a Performer Certificate. He earned a Ph.D. in Music Composition from Capital Normal University, specializing in Composition Technique Theory and Music Analysis. Since 2001, he has taught at the School of Arts, Renmin University of China, where his students have won numerous accolades in domestic and international piano competitions. Conductor Yang Yang was born into a musical family and began learning piano at an early age under the tutelage of piano educator Professor Li Qifang. He later studied conducting with maestros Xu Xin and Wu Lingfen and was admitted to the Conducting Department of the Central Conservatory of Music with outstanding grades, studying under renowned conductor and President of the Central Conservatory of Music, Professor Yu Feng.
