Renato Girolami Tickets

RENATO GIROLAMI was born in Umbria and studied Anglistics and German studies as well as vocal arts with Sesto Bruscantini in Rome. He completed further vocal studies at the University of Music in Munich with Ernst Haefliger and in Berlin with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.

After first engagements in Passau and Salzburg, he was engaged at the Volksoper Wien. From 1991 to 1996 he was established member of the Wiener Staatsoper. Since 1996 he is a freelancer. In 2013/2014 he sang Fra Melitone, Don Geronio and Bartolo at the Bayerische Staatsoper, at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden he sang Bartolo at the beginning of 2014 and he performed Don Geronio and Bartolo at the Staatsoper Hamburg as well as at the Opera Zurich.

In 2015/2016 he for example performed as Barbiere in Toronto and Turco at the Staatsoper Hamburg. After that, Elisir followed at the Staatsoper Berlin. In 2016, he sang a new production of Falstaff in Stockholm. In 2016/2017, he will sing in Oslo in a new production of Cenerentola. Further engagements in recent years included   Don Magnifico, Bartolo and Dulcamara at the Staatsoper Hamburg, Don Geronio at the Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, Dulcamara at the New National Theatre Tokyo and at the Berliner Staatsoper. In 2017 he will be singing Don Pasquale in Glyndebourne and Elisir in Zurich.
