An ordinary life becomes a moving portrait of old Beijing in Beijing Quju Opera Troupe's adaptation of Lao She's novella.
A paper craftsman becomes a policeman as the world around him changes. Abandoned by his wife and later bereaved of his son, he struggles to preserve a modest, dignified life. A chorus of paper figures moves between characters and commentators, revealing his inner world through Beijing Quju's storytelling and singing.
Electronic QR-code tickets and paper tickets are accepted after validation. Every child needs a ticket.
