Paul Lewis is internationally recognized as one of the leading musicians of his generation. He has served as chairman of the jury for the Van Cliburn and Leeds piano competitions, two of the world's most prestigious piano competitions, and is widely regarded as an interpreter of core works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert. In this concert, Paul Lewis will present two piano feasts under the theme "Mozart+", offering both artistic depth and auditory beauty. The program will focus on two of Mozart's most representative piano sonatas, presented alongside works by Poulenc, Chopin, and Debussy, showcasing the multifaceted nature of Mozart's piano compositions and their inherent resonance with later masterpieces.
 
A protégé of the piano master Alfred Brendel, Paul Lewis has garnered almost every major award in the classical music world—the Royal Philharmonic Society's "Instrumentalist of the Year," two Edison Awards, three Gramophone Awards, the French magazine *Tuning Fork*'s Grand Prize, the German Record Critics' Prize, and more. In 2016, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours.
 
He holds honors degrees from the University of Liverpool, the University of Liverpool, and the University of Southampton. He has collaborated extensively with world-class orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Zurich Concertgebouw, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. His performances have taken him to some of the world's most prestigious music venues—the Royal Festival Hall in London, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Vienna Musikverein, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, among others. He is also a regular performer at top international music festivals such as Tanglewood, Salzburg, Lucerne, and the BBC Proms.
 
His recordings for Harmonia Mundi have won numerous awards, including Beethoven's complete piano sonatas and concertos, the Diabelli Variations, Liszt's Sonata in B minor, all of Schubert's important piano works from the last six years of his life, solo works by Schumann and Mussorgsky, and Brahms' Piano Concerto in D minor with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
