Overview

Andean flutes shape a journey through Alexandro Querevalú’s repertoire, from El Cóndor Pasa to The Last of the Mohicans.

Alexandro Querevalú performs on quena, antara and other traditional wind instruments. The programme moves from morning and wind imagery to music associated with The Last of the Mohicans, with selections from Colors of the Rainbow.

Inside, 1,419 seats on two levels face a stage 23 metres wide, with an American Austin pipe organ behind it. The hall grew from a 5,000-seat open-air theatre of 1942 and was renovated by April 1999.
