San Lorenzo in Banale

San Lorenzo in Banale

San Lorenzo in Banale was a comune in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of Trento. It was merged with Dorsino on January 1, 2015, to form a new municipality, San Lorenzo Dorsino. San Lorenzo in Banale offers a unique view of the Sarca Valley.

Located at an altitude of 800 meters near Lake Molveno, the village of San Lorenzo in Banale is the ideal place to relax in the fresh air. This is where the Adamello Brenta Natural Park begins. The museum of the park, which is called "C'era una volta" here, contains evidence of the local peasant civilization.
The center of the village is characterized by many capitals. There is also a recently restored eighteenth-century building, Casa Ozey, which houses a permanent ethnographic exhibition. San Lorenzo in Banale, as well as the nearby village of Rango, are listed in the guidebook of the Italian Tourist Association as one of the most picturesque villages in Italy.
Along the old road you can reach the villages of Moline and Deja, located in an extremely beautiful place.
For fans of football and swimming, there is a functional sports complex with a swimming pool and a football field, as well as a comfortable hotel.
Mountain walkers are offered many routes to the Val d'Ambies and the slopes of the Brent Dolomites.
Nearby ski resorts are Andalo and the Paganella Plateau, but if you wish, you can easily reach Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio.
