Follow Beijing’s operatic history at a theatre that opened in 1955 and welcomed celebrated artists including Mei Lanfang.
The venue on Huguosi Street combines a historic theatre setting with a flexible auditorium of 550 retractable seats. Today it supports performances, recordings and exhibitions, continuing its role in the presentation and preservation of Chinese opera.
