Programme
Nicola Campogrande: Symphony no. 2 "A new world"
Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Concerto no. 5 in E flat major "Emperor", Op.73
Johannes Brahms: Symphony no. 1 in C minor, Op.68
Overview

Beethoven and Brahms, two emperors of nineteenth-century music! Brahms looked to Beethoven to be able to write his First Symphony, revised over and over again. Working on his first symphonic work, like all his contemporaries, Johannes Brahms wondered: how to work on the form after the great, granite, Beethoven? Instead, where will the new wind of Nicola Campogrande's Symphony take us?
The composition by Nicola Campogrande was born from a commission of Adda Sinfónica, Collegium Musicum der Goethe Universität Frankfurt, Petruzzelli Theater Foundation, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Opéra Grand Avignon, Turin Philharmonic Orchestra, Milan Symphony Orchestra, Orchester der Akademie für Tonkunst Darmstadt , Orkiestra Atelier Ostinato, Orkiestra Akademii Beethovenowskiej, Roma Tre Orchestra.

Auditorium di Milano Fondazione Cariplo - Milan
Location   Largo Gustav Mahler

The Auditorium di Milano Fondazione Cariplo, which is the "house of music" of the Giuseppe Verdi Symphony Orchestra and Chorus of Milan, is one of the main cultural centers of the city of Milan.

The Auditorium was born from the renovation of the Cinema Teatro Massimo, thanks to the intervention of the entrepreneur Agostino Liuni on a project by Studio Marzorati. The stalls are shaped like a spoon, and above the hall overlooks the tiered gallery with its curvilinear balustrade. The ceiling is characterized by exposed reticular beams in reinforced concrete, which are arranged radially towards the proscenium with a suggestive configuration. The Auditorium stands out for its excellent acoustics obtained with differently carved pear wood panels. The capacity is 1250 seats.
