Festival de La Roque-d'Anthéron 2026

The Festival de La Roque-d'Anthéron 2026 celebrates the piano in one of the most enchanting settings in Europe, inviting audiences to experience exceptional artistry beneath the centuries-old plane trees of the Parc du Château de Florans in Provence. From 16 July to 16 August 2026, this internationally renowned festival transforms a peaceful corner of southern France into a meeting place for the world's finest pianists, distinguished orchestras, and rising musical talents.

Programme
Overview

Piano Night: Russian Music for Two Pianos

A piano night dedicated to the Russian repertoire for two pianos, featuring both established classics (Rachmaninov, Stravinsky, Shostakovich) and more obscure pieces to discover.

"One must know how to temper one's ego," Christian Ivaldi said of music for two pianists, whether played four hands or two pianos. Written for a kind of "super instrument," with tenfold possibilities yet a consistently unified sound, it has particularly inspired certain composers. Such is the case with Rachmaninov, whose works are performed by Kolesnikov and Tsoy. Admired for their "electrifying intimacy" (The Guardian), they are among the most inventive duos of recent years, multiplying the approaches and collaborations that renew the concert experience. The evening opens with the Franco-Russian duo of Ludmila Berlinskaïa and Arthur Ancelle, whose recent album has garnered acclaim from the music world. Their program, almost entirely rooted in the 20th century, reveals the curiosity that is their hallmark.
