Pianist Stanislav Korchagin, winner of third prize and the bronze award at the International Tchaikovsky Competition according to the organiser, presents Polar Night Rhapsody, a solo recital of French and Russian piano music.
Korchagin trained at the Moscow Chopin School and the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, where he now teaches.
The organiser lists him among the six finalists of the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition.
Debussy's Images, Book II and Ravel's La valse lead the French side, while Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Sonata provides a Russian contrast. Tchaikovsky's December: Christmas brings the programme toward its close.
