Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theater

The Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theater is the state musical theater of the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation, established in 2001 in Kaliningrad.

History 

The history of the Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theater began in 1992, when its founder and artistic director, Honored Art Worker of Russia Valery Ivanovich Lysenko, created in Kaliningrad a theater enterprise "LiK", the first performance of which was "King Lear" by W. Shakespeare Directed by Yevgeny Marcelli. Recruitment was announced for the theater studio, located in the building of the former television center of Kaliningrad, and soon the first studio performance "The City of Our Youth" staged by the State Prize Laureate A. Popov, director Valery Vasilyevich Bukharin appeared. The young theatrical collective began training at the Kaliningrad Branch of the Russian Academy of Theater Arts. The first and second admission of students to the Workshop of the People's Artist of Russia, prof. RATI-GITIS Leonid Efimovich Kheifets became the basis of the troupe of the Musical Theater on Basseinaya. The third admission to the Workshop of the People's Artist of the USSR G. P. Anisimov and the fourth admission to the Workshop of the People's Artist of Russia D. A. Bertman, artistic director of the Moscow musical theater "Helikon-Opera", also entered the troupe of the theater. The official opening of the Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theater took place on December 21, 2001, with the premiere of I. Strauss' operetta "The Bat" staged by Dmitry Bertman. It was the first of many performances within the framework of the Joint project of the Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theater and the Moscow Musical Theater "Helikon-Opera".

The repertoire of the Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theater is diverse and differs from the traditional repertoire of musical theaters in Russia. In addition to operas, operettas, and concert programs, its poster includes musicals for children and adults, rock operas, musical dramas, performances based on classical works, musical fairy tales and experimental productions at the junction of different genres.
